How to Build Your Author Brand Like an Entrepreneur with Geanna Culbertson

This in-depth presentation led by award-winning author and marketing director Geanna Culbertson will explore how to build your brand the way Fortune 500 companies and many of the most recognizable names in the world do. Some topics covered will include: understanding your brand purpose, differentiation, lessons of advertising, and crafting a return on courage. The presentation will use examples from different industries with a focus on books and author branding.

BIO: Geanna Culbertson is a marketing lead at one of the world’s top fulfillment and logistics companies, and is the award-winning author of the Christmas novel The Present, the groundbreaking new guardian angels series Heaven’t You Heard?, and The Crisanta Knight Series.

The Crisanta Knight Series is a nine-book epic of enchantment, adventure, and inspiration. The series follows the children and younger siblings of fairytale characters, all of whom live in a magical world called “Book,” where citizens train to be the next generation of main characters in stories. Told from the empowering, sassy perspective of Cinderella’s daughter, this series is known for its action, humor, heart, epic world building, strong friendships, and dynamic characters. It isn’t loaded with close-your-eyes violence and inappropriate content like most fantasy, making it appropriate for most ages. Additionally, unlike a lot of female-led fiction where romance is the priority, this coming-of-age story emphasizes the heroine’s personal journey first. The series finale releases October 11, 2022 – International Girls Day. Reviewers have frequently described the books as “Harry Potter for Princesses.”

Culbertson is a proud alumna of the University of Southern California where she earned her B.A. in Public Relations and triple minor degrees in Marketing, Cinematic Arts, and Critical Approaches to Leadership. She is a part of only 1.3% of her graduating class to earn the double distinction of Renaissance Scholar and Discovery Scholar. Her Discovery Scholar thesis “Beauty & the Badass: Origins of the Hero-Princess Archetype” earned her acclaim in the School of Cinematic Arts and helped fuel her female protagonist writing passions.
